Reflection
This Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time, we hear Jesus proclaim the Beatitudes—a radical vision of holiness rooted in humility, mercy, and trust in God. The Beatitudes turn the world’s values upside down, reminding us that true happiness (blessedness) is found not in power or success, but in the Lord. St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, one of the church's most recently canonized saints and revered as "the man of the Beatitudes,” lived this radical vision with joy, generosity, and courage, showing us that holiness is possible in everyday life.
On Monday, February 2, we celebrate the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, also known as Candlemas. This feast recalls Mary and Joseph presenting the child Jesus in the Temple, where He is revealed as the light for all nations. In keeping with tradition, candles are blessed as a sign of Christ, our Light—inviting us to carry that light into the world through lives shaped by the Beatitudes.

Este Cuarto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario, escuchamos a Jesús proclamar las Bienaventuranzas: una visión radical de la santidad, arraigada en la humildad, la misericordia y la confianza en Dios. Las Bienaventuranzas ponen de c abeza los valores del mundo y nos recuerdan que la ve rdadera felicidad (bienaventuranza) no se encuentra en el poder ni en el éxito, sino en el Señor. San Pier Giorgio Frassati, uno de los santos más reciente-mente canonizados de la Iglesia y venerado como “el hombre de las Bienaventuranzas”, vivió esta visión radical con alegría, generosidad y valentía, mostrándonos que la santidad es posible en la vida cotidiana.
El lunes 2 de febrero celebramos la Fiesta de la Presentación del Señor, también conocida como la Candelaria. Esta fiesta recuerda a María y José presentando al Niño Jesús en el Templo, donde Él es revelado como luz para todas las naciones. Fieles a la tradición, se bendicen las velas como signo de Cristo, nuestra Luz, invitándonos a llevar esa luz al mundo mediante vidas moldeadas por las Bienaventuranzas.
